Update: I looked at USBDeview.exe when the Samsung Tab 3 10.1 (GT-P5210) is connected via USB cable. Like spell checking, connectivity should be a basic feature and should be easy. How do I get it to be viewed as a tablet for file transfer? Windows Explorer recognizes the connected device as a camera. Any hope for connecting Samsung's tablet? The Galaxy tab 3 10.1 got the KitKat 4.4.2 update after a long wait in the world of jellies but with an upper count of about 20 markets, it may take a while for the update to reach your device. Sometimes the tablet tells me that my Windows XP system lacks software to recognize the Android. Have restarted both tablet and computer multiple times, hoping drivers from Kies or other factors might kick in and help.

Jellybean and Windows XP Service Pack 3 (Windows XP Professional, Version 2002) on a Lenovo laptop. Windows recognizes the device as a camera (GT-P5210). Installed Samsings New PC Studio, but it won't recognize the tablet either. Tried bluetooth without success (though I can use Smart Camera software and send photos wirelessly to my XP computer). I've tried Kies and Kies 3, but it does not recognize the device.

While I can connect my Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 to my Mac, efforts on my Windows XP have failed after many tries.
